I'm not exactly sure if we needed to post this or not but this is roll call 1 and 2 from class 3 last week.

Class 3 Assignment 5 : Red-Eye Image Formats Assignment

In this assignment we took the finished "redeye" image in our other midterm assignment and saved it to both .gif and .png files respectively. After completing the .jpg portion I used the "export" feature in GIMP in order to save it into my desired file extensions. In terms of quality, there are definitely some differences especially with the .gif format. Compared to the .png and .jpg files which to me look very similar except for perhaps some minor color differences, the .gif format looks poor. It's grainy, blotchy, and does not render the color properly. It has an overall poor quality to it.

In this assignment we saved the ball.tif files onto our computers and then saved the file into other popular web formats. To achieve this, I opened up GIMP and used the "export" feature to save them into the desired formats (.jpg, .gif, .png).  It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. MIDTERM #1

The above screenshot was our in class work on removing red eye from pictures. We practiced with the eyedropper tool and zooming in so that we could paintbrush his eyes. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. Assignment 2-3

Unfortunately I couldn't make it to lecture time last thursday, but I went ahead and cropped & re-sized the learning ladder image to get some much needed practice. The two images below are the cropped images.

The next four images are from the bitmap textbook and the links on our lecture notes page that I used for references.

This is a photo of my wife and I in oPorto, Portugal back in 2010. We spent a week there for a friends wedding and had a blast! We are standing in front of Sandeman which produces some fine port wine.

Hello, My Name is Jeff

Hey everyone my name is Jeff. I'm 27 years old and currently living in Somerville with my wife and two bombay kitties, Tom and Jerry (my godson named them). I'm majoring in Information Technology in the Woods College of Advancing Studies and have another year and a half left in order to finally complete my Bachelors Degree. I work for Boston College Athletics/Dining Services setting up all the athletic events and dining functions on campus. In my spare time (which is sadly not much these days) I enjoy reading, listening to music, traveling and sports.

I'm looking forward to "meeting" everyone!
